The #MeToo movement in India gained momentum after Tanushree Dutta levelled allegations of sexual harassment against her ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’ co-star Nana Patekar. Since then, several women including journalists, actresses have shared own tale of #MeToo on social media. Bollywood biggies like Subhash Ghai, Sajid Khan, Vikas Bahl, Alok Nath have been accused of sexual misconduct. ‘Manikarnika’ actress Kangana Ranaut had supported the girl who accused her ‘Queen’ director Vikas Bahl of sexual harassment and said that Bahl made her uncomfortable several times.

The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress, who is known for not mincing her words, has questioned Karan Johar and Shabana Azmi for their silence on #MeToo.

Kangana, while talking to a news channel, said that KJo and Shabana some come out and support the movement. “Where are people like Karan Johar and Shabana Azmi? These people should also come out,” the actress told India Today.

The ‘Simran’ star also criticized the ‘Takht’ director over his much-awaited celebrity talk show ‘Koffee With Karan 6’ and said the industry is going through a major shift and why Karan is still silent.

Karan Johar has views about gym looks and airport looks. He tweets ten times about it. What about this? This is their identity. This is their bread and butter. When the film industry is going through such an important shift, where are they?,” Kangana told the news channel.

The National Award winning actress also lashed out at the concept of KWK 6.

“I was seeing some promo that they have launched for this talk show. Again those same frivolous talks are going on. This one sleeping with this one, that one with that one. Making girls look like Barbie dolls, that is not done. And why men who change women like clothes being glorified? Has there been a woman who has been glorified like that,’’ Kangana further told the news channel.

The ‘Gangster’ actress said that if the likes of Karan Johar and Shabana Azmi should call themselves the messiahs of Bollywood if they are not going to be a part of #MeToo movement in the entertainment industry.

On the professional front, Kangana will be next seen in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, which will hit the silver screens on January 25, 2019. The pahadi beauty also has ‘Mental Hai Kya’ and ‘Panga’ in his kitty.
