Kajol marked the 29th anniversary of her hit movie ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (DDLJ) on Sunday, which also happened to be the festival of Karva Chauth.

In the movie, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan played Simran and Raj, two people in love who want their parents' approval before they marry. Directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Chopra, DDLJ was released on October 20, 1995, and became a classic.

Kajol marks Karva Chauth by sharing a special post on social media

Kajol shared the film's poster on social media, wishing her fans a happy Karva Chauth. She also reminded everyone to catch the movie at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir, where it’s been showing for more than 1,200 weeks non-stop.

The caption read, "29 years to the OG of Karva Chauth… wishing everyone a very hungry and successful Karva chauth .. maybe go to Maratha mandir and see the film. It’s 0 calories. #29yearsofddlj #ddlj."

The 1995 movie was apparently one of the earlier Hindi films to have a key plot point set against the backdrop of Karva Chauth, on which many Hindu women observe a fast, praying for their husbands' long life.
