While Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey played the lead male and female roles in 'Arjun Reddy', Shahid and Kiara have stepped into their shoes for the remake.
The original 'Arjun Reddy' tells the story of Arjun Reddy Deshmukh (Vijay), a high-functioning alcoholic surgeon who has anger management problems. Arjun is on a self-destructive path after the marriage of his girlfriend Preethi Shetty (Shalini); the film focuses on his downfall and subsequent resurgence.
Both the film are written and directed by Sandeep Vanga.
'Kabir Singh' has Shahid playing the lead role of this surgeon named 'Dr. Kabir Raj Dev Singh' while Kiara plays his love interest named 'Preethi'.
Shahid managed to pull off the magic Vijay created with the portrayal of film's lead and his intense and dark avatar is winning the internet in the hindi remake.
Many Telugu film fans are appreciating Shahid's portrayal of Vijay's character calling it perfect while a very few call Vijay the only original 'Arjun Reddy'. Film releases on on June 21.

Both the teasers are almost frame-by-frame similar leaving apart a few details which aren't revealed in hindi remake yet. 'Arjun Reddy' teaser showed the lead character struggling with anger management issues while 'Kabir Singh' does not talk of this, the scenes however do indicate that the main character has temper issues.
