With the humongous success of 'Arjun Reddy' official Hindi remake that surpassed Rs 70 crore over it's opening weekend, the trade comment that by the sheer show of numbers it's 'Kabir Singh' all over as the film also went on to become Shahid Kapoor's biggest opener as a solo actor. 'Kabir Singh' has successfully passed the Monday test as well by collecting Rs 17.54 crore - making the impressive total of Rs 88.37 crore.




Trade expert Taran Adarsh says, “When Shahid was announced, I wondered how would he do justice to the role. He's very calm, neither smokes or drinks in real life. A very nice guy with no controversy and a clean image. But when I saw 'Kabir Singh', I was blown away with his performance, the fact that Shahid is the lifeline and backbone of the film."

"Kabir Singh would'nt be what it is without Shahid kapoor. I have two words for his performance in the film 'outstanding' and 'brilliant'. The film is doing phenomenal business in East, West, North and South despite Adult Certification, despite a non-holiday release, despite releasing during World Cup matches. But Shahid took the film to another level. This film is one of the biggest hits of this year. This is Shahid's best performance,” he adds.

Komal Nahta says, “Shahid Kapoor is outstanding in the title role. He has performed so brilliantly that he would be a strong contender for the Best Actor awards this year. He looks very good and lives the character of Kabir Singh. His biggest achievement is that he has played the character without any inhibitions, whatsoever.”

While Shahid has always proved his mettle as a powerhouse performer with films like 'Kaminey', 'Haider', 'Udta Punjab' and 'Padmaavat', the actor has certainly solidified his popularity with the masses and at the box office with films including 'Ishq Vishq', 'Jab We Met', 'Vivaah' & 'R...Rajkumar' amongst others.
