Shahid Kapoor & Kiara Advani’s highly-anticipated release 'Kabir Singh' becomes his highest opener as the lead protagonist and the trade has already declared the film a bonafide blockbuster as the numbers show an impressive growth over the weekend.

The Hindi adaptation of the runaway hit 'Arjun Reddy' not just made a splash at the box office on the day of its release but shattered records over the weekend by crossing Rs 70 crore mark. While it earned Rs 20.21 crores on day one, it made Rs 22.71 crores on day two. Expectedly, the collections skyrocketed on Sunday with Rs 27.91 crores making the total Rs 70.83 crores.






Kabir Singh took off to a sensational start and continues to see remarkable growth with audiences all praise for Shahid’s stupendous performance, gripping plot, soulful music and above all the chemistry between him and Kiara Advani.

Despite the on-going World Cup fever and India-Afghanistan match on Saturday, Shahid’s biggest opener saw major footfalls in cinema halls and scored big numbers at the box office on the second day of its release.

While Shahid has always proved his mettle as a powerhouse performer with films like 'Kaminey', 'Haider', 'Udta Punjab' and 'Padmaavat', the actor has certainly solidified his popularity with the masses and at the box office with films including 'Ishq Vishq', 'Jab We Met', 'Vivaah' & 'R...Rajkumar' amongst others.
