New Delhi: Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor will soon be seen together in ‘Bawaal’. The film is touted to be a romantic period-action film. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Bawaal’ now has a new release date.
Post their successful innings with ‘Chhichhore’ (which bagged National Award for best Hindi feature film), filmmakers Sajid Nadiadwala and Nitesh Tiwari announced their next project- 'Bawaal', featuring Varun Dhawan & Janhvi Kapoor. Having kept the excitement intact with the constant progress of the film, the makers have announced the theatrical release date of the film, 6th October 2023.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the date change. He said, "VARUN DHAWAN - JANHVI KAPOOR: 'BAWAAL' NEW RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED… #Bawaal - which reunites producer #SajidNadiadwala and director #NiteshTiwari after #Chhichhore - to release on 6 Oct 2023… Stars #VarunDhawan and #JanhviKapoor."
Earlier, ‘Bawaal’ was supposed to be released on April 7, 2023. However, as per reports, the delay is because of VFX issues. Looks like the post production work on the film is still pending.
Fans are super excited to see what the fresh pairing of Varun and Janhvi will bring to the screen for the first time.
Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari has earlier made acclaimed films like ‘Chillar Party', 'Bhoothnath Returns' and 'Dangal'. ‘Dangal’ became the highest-grossing Indian film and the fifth highest grossing non-English film, earning over Rs. 2000 crores including Rs. 1200 crores in China alone.
Later, Nitesh Tiwari went on to make 'Chhichhore' in 2019 which was critically-acclaimed and appreciated by audiences as well.
On the other hand, Varun Dhawan will next be seen in the Indian version of ‘Citadel’ alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu while Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in Mr & Mrs Mahi with Rajkummar Rao.
‘Bawaal’ is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson, and is co-produced by EarthSky Pictures.
