Mumbai: Jaaved Jaaferi's son Meezaan, who is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the film 'Malaal', has opened up on dating rumours with megastar Amitabh Bachchan's grand-daughter Navya Naveli Nanda, saying they are only "friends". "There is no relationship. "We are friends, and friends also have a relationship. It's not always a boyfriend and girlfriend thing. Just because we get papped outside the theatre leaving with friends, it does not mean we are dating," Meezaan said on a chat show while promoting his forthcoming film.

But when the show's anchor played a quick game with Meezaan and asked him who he would like to kill, marry and hook-up with, between Navya, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday, the debutante chose Navya for marriage, Sara for a hook-up and decided to kill Ananya.

Meezan appeared on Zoom's show "By Invite Only" along with his co-star Sharmin Segal, who is a niece of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The rumors of Meezaan and Navya dating started when the two were spotted on their movie-outing together in 2017 and they both tried to hide their faces from the paparazzi. Few days later, Filmymonkey had also laid hands on a picture of the two at a party together that was attended also by Meezaan's sister Alaviaa Jaaferi and Suniel Shetty's son Ahan Shetty. The two were also spotted getting cosy at another party in the year to follow, in 2018.

Meezaan also has an explanation saying Navya and his sister Alaviaa have been BFFs since their college days in New York.

Big B's grand daughter Navya Nanda & Javed Jaaferi's daughter Alaviaa Jaaferi PARTY HARD with friends!

Speaking at various other media interviews too, Meezaan was asked the same question and while answering one such, he also confessed that he indeed is in a relationship but not with Navya. He said - "Maybe, I'm in a relationship but not with Navya. Just because I got papped with my friend doesn't mean she's my girlfriend. Maybe you will believe me when I get papped with my actual girlfriend."

Directed by Mangesh Hadawale, "Malaal" is releasing on Friday.
