Movie buffs were eagerly waiting to know about Ishaan Khatter’s next project after ‘Dhadak’. While Ananya is currently busy shooting for ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’, Ishaan is yet to announce his next film.
A report in a leading daily has suggested that Ishaan and Ananya have been signed for Ali Abbas Zafar’s production debut.
“Since the Maximum City-centric film is a fresh take on the romantic genre and revolves around young people, Ali was keen to cast actors who are a big draw with youngsters. Both Ishaan and Ananya have impressed with their first films but have not worked together so it’s a new jodi as well,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.
Ali Abbas made his directorial debut with Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan’ rom-com ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. He later went on to direct action and sports films like ‘Gunday’, ‘Sultan’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’.
His last release ‘Bharat’ co-starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif collected over Rs 200 crore at the box office.
“He(Ali) feels this is the best subject and genre for him to turn producer. Being a writer himself, he has been involved throughout the scripting process,” the source further told the daily.
Ishaan Khatter was rumoured to be part of Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Midnight’s Children’ adaptation and Mira Nair’s upcoming film. However, gossip mills suggested that the actor walked out of the two projects citing creative differences.
Talking about Ananya Panday, the actress will be next seen in the Hindi remake of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’. The film co-starring Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar will release on December 6, 2019.
