In March 2018, the 'Paan Singh Tomar' actor announced through a post on Twitter that he was suffering from a neuroendocrine tumour. The 'Life In A Metro' star flew to London for treatment.

Irrfan is doing fine in abroad and his wife Sutapa Sikdar is there with him, the report added.

Irrfan Khan had completed the shooting for 'Angrezi Medium' despite his ailing health; however, he couldn't promote the film. The makers had shared a video in which Khan expressed his inability to promote the comedy drama.

"My film Angrezi Medium is extremely special to me. I genuinely wanted to promote this film with as much love as we have made it with. But there are some unwanted guests sitting inside my body and I am having a conversation with them. Whatever their status is, I will keep you posted. There is a saying, when life gives you lemons, you make a lemonade. But it is always easier said than done. Because when life gives you lemons for real, then it is extremely difficult to make a shikanji," the actor was quoted as saying in the video.

The movie co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan had a short run at the box office as the cinema halls were shut due to Coronavirus outbreak.  The makers of the film have released 'Angrezi Medium' digitally on Disney+Hotstar.

We extend our deepest condolences to Irrfan Khan and his family.
