New Delhi: Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, who was last seen in ‘Angrezi Medium’, has been admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital. The ‘Piku’ actor is hospitalized because of a colon infection. Irrfan’s official spokesperson issued a statement and said that the actor has been admitted to the hospital’s ICU. The 53-year-old is currently under doctor’s observation.

“Yes it is true that Irrfan khan is admitted to ICU at Kokilaben in Mumbai because of a colon infection. We would keep everyone updated. He is under doctor’s observation. His strength and courage have helped him battle and fight so far and we are sure with his tremendous willpower and prayers of all his well wishers, he will recover soon,” the statement.

Irrfan Khan, who is known for his power-packed performances, has been ailing ever since the actor was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour two years back.

The ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ actor recently lost his mother. He couldn’t attend her funeral due to the Coronavirus lockdown. Some reports suggested that the actor was stranded abroad and hence, he couldn’t fly back to India. However, there is no truth to such rumours floating in the media.

Irrfan Khan's recent release 'Angrezi Medium' couldn't entertain the audience in the cinema halls as the theatres were closed due to the COVID-19 lockdown, a day after the film's release. The film co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Angrezi Medium is now available for streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
