New Delhi: Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' and Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' have released together at the box office. The two big clashes, despite being from two different genres, have created quite some conversation among fans and trade experts. While Prabhas-starrer 'Kalki 2898 AD' is still running in theatres, a major challenge comes from Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2'.
Indian 2 box office prediction
Thanks to 'Indian', Kamal Haasan's 1996 film that the pre-saled for the film was around Rs. 10.98 cr for the opening day. Ahead of its Dday 1 collection, 'Indian 2' has already become the biggest Tamil opener of 2024, given the advance ticket sales for 12,127 shows across India almost indicating a Rs. 35 cr gross opening in the domestic market,ETV Bharat reported.
However, as predicted with the pre-sales in the Hindi belt, the Kamal Haasan film has started off on a slow buzz. The Hindi version of the film is releasing on 4500 screens and is estimated to open at Rs. 2.50 cr gross.
The global collection of 'Indian 2' is expected to be over Rs. 55 cr, less than Kamal Haasan's last film 'Vikram' which opened to Rs. 62 cr globally.

Sarfira Day 1 Box Office estimate
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' has not been able to create that much of a buzz. The Sudha Kongara directorial made only about Rs. 32 lakh in pre-sales gross collection, with 15.6K sold on the first day of slaes. The film is expected to have a low opening of Rs. 50 lakh+ on opening day.
Sarfira's pre-sales are lower than those of his last release 'Mission Raniganj'( Rs. 76 lakh gross), which are among the actor's lowest in many years.
As per Sacnilk.com, 'Sarfira' is expected to perform well on its first day at the box office. A Hindi remake of the 2020 Tamil hit 'Soorarai Pottru, the film's performance will majorly depend on word of mouth reviews.
