Karjat: The set of Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ has been destroyed after a major fire broke out at Karjat’s ND Studio on Friday (May 7), a report in PTI said. The massive fire erupted on the iconic set of the period drama, which was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
The fire broke out at 12:15pm on Friday, which resulted in damages to the set, a police official told the news agency. Many fire-fighting vehicles from neighboring areas were rushed to the incident spot. No casualty has been reported.

The N D film studio, which is owned by prominent art director Nitin Desai, is also a popular tourist attraction. Many popular films including Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Salman Khan’s ‘Kick and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ have been shot in the studio.
Shows like ‘Bigg Boss’, ‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’, 'Pyaar Ki Ek Kahaani' were also filmed in ND Studios.
Paparazzo Manav Manglani shared pictures from the sets in ND Studios. Many things including Plywood and PoP were gutted in the fire. He wrote, “Major fire breaks out at #NDstudio in Karjat where epic movies like Jodha Akbar and Bajirao Mastani were shot few years back.”
Singer Sophie Choudry dropped a comment on the post. She wrote, "Omg hope everyone is safe."

‘Jodha Akbar’, which released in 2008, emerged as a big success at the box office. The historical drama bagged several awards including five Filmfare Awards and two National Film Awards.
