New Delhi: Veteran political leader and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away on March 17 after a prolonged illness. The former Defence Minister was 63. Vicky Kaushal’s dialogue- ‘How’s the Josh’ from the film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ had caught the attention of the nation and even PM Narenda Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had quoted the catchphrase. Despite his poor health, Manohar Parrikar had used the lines during the inauguration of the 5.1 km-long Mandovi bridge 'Atal Setu' in Panaji in January.

Parrikar, who was suffering from pancreatic ailment, had used the catchphrase, drawing huge cheers from the crowd. The video went viral in no time. Check out the video!

Yogesh Soman had the played the role of Defence Minister Ravinder Agnihotri in ‘Uri’ and his character was reportedly based on then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. Many fans have called Yogesh Soman Parrikar's doppelganger because of their similarity. The Marathi actor took to Twitter to express his condolences and mourn his death.

Paresh Rawal, who played the role of Govind Bhardwaj in the military drama, wrote, ‘’ Saddened by the demise of Shri Manohar Parrikar Saab . An honest decisive and forthright man . Had a good fortune of interacting with him . We have lost a gem . Aum Shanti.’’


Leading Bollywood celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar have taken to social media to mourn Parrikar’s death.
