Holi is a celebration of the victory of good over evil. The festival is colour is known by different names in different states of the country (like Phagwah, Rangwali Holi, Dhuleti, Phakuwa and many others) and each of these states follow a slightly different ritual to celebrate it. Holi is a festival that commemorates the combined celebration of two different festivals – Choti Holi (Holika Dahan) and Badi Holi (Rangwali Holi/Dulandi). People celebrate Choti Holi a day before Holi. This year India will be celebrating Choti Holi on March 20 and it is celebrated with a bonfire rejoicing in the triumph of good over evil.
