New Delhi: Himani Shivpuri is best known for portraying supporting characters in several Bollywood movies and serials. Hailing from Dehradun, the actress graduated from the National School of Drama in the year 1982. She has done some memorable roles in films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Pardes’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ and many others. Himani Shivpuri has also starred in several daily soaps including ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and others.

The ‘Happu Ki Ultan Pultan’ actress recently confirmed to us that she has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Confirming the news to ABP News, Himani said, "I have been admitted to Holy Spirit Hospital sometime back because I have other diseases like diabetes. The doctor advised me to get admitted otherwise I would have quarantined at home."

The actress is seen in an important character in the TV serial 'Happu Ki Ultan Pultan' these days. Himani last shot the serial on 9 September. When enquired by ABP News if she got infected by COVID-19 during shooting, Himani said, "I don't know about it. By the way, on 8 September I had also shot an ad film. I don't know how I got infected after taking all the precautions."

The ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ actress got her COVID-19 test done on Friday after developing symptoms. She was then admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The actress also shared a post on her Instagram sharing the news of her testing COVID-19 positive. In her post, the ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ also urged everyone who has come in contact with her to get themselves tested.

Himani Shivpuri’s post read, “Gud morning this to inform you that I tested positive for Covid.Anyone who has come in contact with me kindly get yourself tested.”



In one of her recent interviews with a leading daily, the actress also spoke about the ban on artists above 65-years of age. She said that though it is a scary situation, the people who are above age should not be side-lined. The 59-year old actress was quoted saying by Hindustan Times, “I was so scared to go out and shoot, I’m still scared. It’s a scary situation. But people who’re above the age should not be sidelined. In this profession, as you grow older, the work anyway lessens. They’re feeling very bad about it. We don’t even get pension, jitna milta hai woh lifestyle maintain karne me chala jaata hai. (whatever we get, we spend it on maintaining our lifestyle) As we’re growing, paise kam ho rahe hai, (money is decreasing) so we need to work.”

The ban on the senior artists has been lifted by the government some time back.
