New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini and CBFC Chairperson Prasoon Joshi will be honoured with the 'Indian Film Personality Of The Year' Award at the International Film Festival Of India. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, while addressing a press conference on Thursday (November 18), announced that the two eminent personalities will receive the prestigious award at the IFFI 2021. 


Thakur talked about Malini and Joshi’s significant contribution to India cinema and said that their work has enthralled audience across different generations.  


“Contributions of Hema Malini and Prasoon Joshi to the field of Indian cinema spread over decades & their body of work has enthralled audiences across generations. They are Indian cinematic icons who are admired & respected the world over,” Thakur was quoted as saying by ANI. 



The International Film Festival of India 2021 will be organised in Goa from November 20 to November 28.. Last year, the award for the 'Indian Film Personality Of The Year' was conferred to veteran actor-director Biswajit Chatterjee.


These Two Filmmakers To Receive Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award


American filmmaker Martin Scorsese and Hungarian filmmaker Istvan Szabo will be awarded the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at IFFI 2021. The OTT platforms will also participate in the film festival, I&B Minister Anurag Thakur said.








 

The 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India will pay tribute to four international stalwarts by showcasing their films in the 'Homage' section, as per a report in IANS. The films of French director Bertrand Tavernier, Oscar-winning screenwriter Jean-Claude Carriere, the French 'New Wave' auteur Jean-Paul Belmondo and Hollywood star Christopher Plummer will be showcased at the event.
