British actress Helen McCrory, fondly known for her roles in 'Harry Potter' films and TV series 'Peaky Blinders', passed away on April 9 after battling cancer. She was 52. Helen's husband Damian Lewis took to social media to share the news of her demise with the fans. Lewis issued a statement to inform that Helen took her last breathe 'peacefully' at their home after a 'heroic battle' with cancer.


Fans expressed their grief after receiving the heartbreaking news on Twitter. They offered their condolences to Helen’s family and prayed for her soul.

"I’m heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family. She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you," Helen's husband said in a statement.



One user shared pictures of Helen on social media along with the caption, "My heart hurts today. rest in peace to the legend, helen mccrory."



The official Twitter handle of 'Peaky Blinders' posted a note after Helen's demise. The tweet read, "Helen McCrory as Polly Gray. All our love and thoughts are with Helen’s family. Rest in peace."



Helen was seen as Tom Felton’s on-screen mother Narcissa Malfoy in different films of ‘Harry Potter’ franchise she won several hearts with her performance as Polly Gray in ‘Peaky Blinders’.

Helen also worked in films like ‘Skyfall’, 'A Little Chaos', 'Bill'. The veteran actress was last seen as David Ellison in TV show ‘Roadkill’.  


McCory is survived by her husband Damian Lewis and kids- Manon and Gulliver.
