New Delhi: ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas celebrates his 41st birthday today. The ‘Saaho’ actor made his debut in the year 2002 with the Telugu action-drama ‘Eeswar’ which did not receive much appreciation from the audience. Prabhas, however, gained recognition with his third film ‘Varsham’ which released in the year 2004. The ‘Mirchi’ actor rose to international prominence with S.S. Rajamouli’s film ‘Baahubali’ which eventually made him a superstar.

  1. The real name of the ‘Radhe Shyam’ actor is Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju and was born to film producer Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju. He is also the nephew of Telugu actor Uppalapati Krishnam Raju.

  2. The ‘Adipurush’ actor is the first South Indian star to have a wax statue at Madame Tussaud’s wax museum.

  3. Prabhas is a big-time foodie and has revealed earlier that he wanted to be a hotelier and not an actor. Chicken Biryani is his favourite dish.

  4. Before making his Bollywood debut in ‘Saaho’, Prabhas made a guest appearance in Ajay Devgn’s movie ‘Action Jackson’. He was seen dancing alongside Sonakshi Sinha in a song.

  5. Prabhas is a very big fan of Rajkumar Hirani and has watched ‘3 Idiots’ almost 20 times reportedly.

  6. For the iconic role in ‘Baahubali’, the actor gained almost 20 kilos and was trained by Mr. World 2010, Laxman Reddy. Prabhas went through a massive transformation from 82 kilos to 102 kilos.

  7. The makers of ‘Baahubali’ reportedly installed gym equipment worth Rs 1.5 crore in his house to train for his role in the movie.

  8. The ‘Rebel’ actor is an engineer and holds a B.Tech degree from Sri Chaitanya College in Hyderabad.

  10. Prabhas did not take up any project for more than 3 years while he was shooting for ‘Baahubali’. Reportedly, not only movies, he even turned down an endorsement worth Rs 5.5 crore because he wanted to concentrate on the film.


On the professional front, the actor announced a series of his upcoming films during lockdown including ‘Radhe Shyam’ opposite Pooja Hegde, ‘Adipurush’ and the untitled with Deepika Padukone.
