Late legendary actress Sridevi's untimely demise on 24th February due to accidental drowning came as a shock for her family as well as fans. Latest reports suggest that filmmaker Hansal Mehta is planning to make a biopic on the late actress & is considering National-award-winning actress Vidya Balan to play the lead role in it.

The director, known for acclaimed films like Shahid, Citylights, Aligarh among others, has now reacted on the same & has refuted the reports regarding Sridevi's biopic on social media.

On Twitter, Hansal Mehta clarified that he wanted to approach Sridevi for a film before her untimely death but unfortunately that was not meant to be.

Check out Hansal Mehta's tweet here: "CLARIFICATION : I had planned a film for which i wanted to approach Sridevi. That was unfortunately not meant to be. I’m seeing this totally fake news about me approaching @vidya_balan for a Sridevi biopic. This is totally false and there is nothing like that on the anvil."


He further tweeted that, "What I said is that I am determined to make the film I’d planned with her. And that I might approach another actor to fit into that character. Obviously this information has been lost in translation and I’m seeing a flurry of alerts with fake news."

On the career front, Mehta is busy with his next film 'Omerta', featuring Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. The film is based on the life of British terrorist of Pakistani descent, Omar Saeed Shaikh & is slated to release on 20th April.
