New Delhi: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gully Boy’, which hit the silver screens on February 14, is roaring at the box office. The Zoya Akhtar directorial started on a flying note and minted Rs 19.40 crore on the very first day. Although, the film witnessed a drop on Friday, it managed to garner a decent sum on its second day. The much-awaited film has continued the momentum on its third day (Saturday) and raked in Rs 18.65 crore, taking the total collection to Rs 51.15 crore.

‘Gully Boy’ has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark within the first three days, which is an impressive feat in itself. Trade pundits were expecting the musical drama to do quite well and the film didn’t disappoint them.

Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared Gully Boy’s box office collection on Twitter. He mentioned that the film is doing quite well in the Metro cities and Sunday collection will be huge as well.

‘Gully Boy’ is also doing quite well in the international markets like the USA, Canada and Australia.




The story of the film focuses on Murad Sheikh (Ranveer), who beats all the odds and becomes a successful rapper. The flick is loosely based on the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy.

‘Gully Boy’ has proved to be Ranveer Singh’s second biggest opener at the box office.  Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’ is his biggest opener at the box office till date.


Both Ranveer and Alia have been appreciated for their performance in the film. Zoya Akhtar has also received praise for her brilliant direction.
