New Delhi: Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani starrer has set the box office on fire. Trade pundits were expecting the comedy drama to do quite well and it managed to surpass all the expectations. The Raj Mehta directorial, which released on December 27, collected Rs 8.10 crore on its second Friday.

The film, which received good reviews from the critics and fans, has minted a total of Rs 136 crore till date. ‘Good Newwz’ is expected to enter the Rs 150 crore club by this weekend.

Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the total box office collection of ‘Good Newwz’ on Twitter. He mentioned that the film performed quite well in the northern circuits.

“#GoodNewwz is unstoppable... Continues to win hearts, woo BO... Records rock-steady numbers on [second] Fri... North circuits superb... Should comfortably cross ₹ 150 cr in Weekend 2... [Week 2] Fri 8.10 cr. Total: ₹ 136 cr. #India biz,” Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.


'Good Newwz', which is about the tryst of two couple with IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation), has been produced by Zee Studios, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. The film didn't face much competition from the new releases this week.


Akshay Kumar had a successful 2019 as all his four releases including 'Kesari', 'Mission Mangal' and 'Housefull 4' minted over Rs 100 crore at the box office.
