Shortly after its release, Gadar 2 was leaked online and can be found on various illegal websites as well as on social media platforms. The leaked film is available in different resolutions, ranging from 360p to 1080p, on these unauthorised websites.
According to industry trader Sacnilk, Gadar 2 is expected to collect Rs 35 crore on its opening day, becoming the the second-highest Bollywood opener of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan which earned Rs 57 crore on day one of its release.
On Instagram, Esha Deol sent a message to support her half-brother Sunny Deol and his new film 'Gadar 2'. The actress captioned the film's poster, "Today let's hear the lion roar...& reach soaring heights. Best wishes @iamsunnydeol."

‘Gadar 2’ is set in the middle of the chaotic 'Crush India Movement’ in 1971. The film depicts Tara Singh and Sakeena's legacy, with Tara Singh travelling to Pakistan to rescue their son Charan Jeet Singh (Utkrash Sharma), who was being held by the Pakistani Army.
Sunny added, “We are recreating 1971 not today. So, it has to be 1971 relatable.”
Gadar 2 is a sequel to the 2001 smash movie "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha," which was directed by Anil Sharma. Since the 1990s, this movie has had the second-most Hindi movie viewings in India. It eventually became the most successful Hindi movie since "Hum Aapke Hain Koun" (1994)!
