New Delhi: Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel starrer 'Gadar 2' is running successfully in theatres. The Anil Sharma directorial recently collected Rs. 300 crores at the box office becoming the second highest grossing Hindi film of 2023. This is even before 'Gadar 2' has had a complete run. Many trade analysts like Taran Adarsh expect 'Gadar 2' to cross the lifetime business of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' soon. Recently, Ameesha Patel spoke about 'Gadar 2' and shared that there is one thing she would like to change about 'Gadar 2'.
In an interview with ETimes, Ameesha shared that there is one thing she would change, it is the much discussed edit of the film. When asked in the same interview if there was one thing she would have done differently as an editor, Ameesha shared, "Nothing really but I wish I was the editor. I would have edited and re-edited a few things and made it maybe crisper."
'Gadar 2' is the sequel of the 2001 film 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha'. Both films are blockbusters of their own time. Both have been directed by Anil Sharma and star Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol in the lead.
'Gadar 2' is set in 1971 and follows Tara Singh's journey to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh( Utkarsh Sharma) from the Pakistani Army.
'Gadar 2' has already collected Rs. 261 crores after six days of its release. The film even set a record of a highest single-day collection on Independence Day by collecting Rs. 55.5 crores.
On social media platforms like Twitter, Sunny Deol and ‘Gadar’ fans have hailed the film as a ‘masterpiece’, ‘inspiring’ and just the kind of film Bollywood needed for a long time.
Audiences have loved Sunny Deol’s return to the silver screen in the form of Tara Singh.
Recently, Sunny Deol’s father and veteran actor Dharmendra shared that he was extremely proud of his son Sunny Deol who seems to have finally gotten his due in Bollywood with the success of ‘Gadar 2’.
