New Delhi: One of the most anticipated films of 2024, Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, finally hit cinemas on January 25. The year got off to a positive start with the Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor film. But business at the box office seems to have stalled.
‘Fighter’ had a crucial test on its first Monday after a rather sluggish start and a respectable long weekend. The aerial action film starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone made around Rs 8 crore, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk.
After the noteworthy four-day weekend, which included the Republic Day holiday, the Siddharth Anand-directed film needed to sustain double-digit numbers, according to trade analysts, in order to have a good overall run at the box office. But with earnings below 10 crore rupees, ‘Fighter’ seems to be destined for a difficult road ahead.
On Day 5, ‘Fighter’ grossed Rs 126.50 crore at the domestic box office and around Rs 220 crore internationally. The box office take for the film is predicted to be lower than that of ‘Pathaan’, Siddharth Anand's last Hindi smash hit.
While the audience loves the performances of the cast, Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh 'Rocky' Jai Singh has delivered a performance that is just perfect.
To make the audience closer to the world of Rocky, the makers shared a BTS video. The actor can be seen enjoying the best moments on the sets and his dedication, and detailing are indeed praised by the team. They captioned it: "Tough, authoritative and unbreakable. Taking you through the making of Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh. Call Sign: ROCKY..”
‘Fighter’ will have a free run till the release of ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, a romantic comedy starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. On February 9, it will be released.
