New Delhi: Actress Maanvi Gagroo, who won several hearts with her performance as Siddhi in Amazon Prime’s ‘Four More Shots Please 2’, slammed a fashion a label for using her picture without permission in their advert. The ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ actress was miffed with clothing brand’s fat-shaming advertisement and schooled them for the body-shaming caption they used.

Sharing a screenshot of the same, she tweeted, “I didn't wear this dress to 'hide my curves'. Not only does the brand NOT have my permission to use my picture as a sponsored post, they definitely don't have my permission to fat shame ANYONE! I stand against everything this distasteful tagline points to.”

The fashion label House of Fett has issued an apology and removed the advertisement. The brand released an apology note on Instagram and said that they are ‘completely against any kind of shaming’.

The statement read, "We're deeply apologetic that our brand misrepresented not only your celebrity but also our personal stand on issues of body shaming & body positivity. We are completely against any kind of shaming, on social media or otherwise. Our aim has always been to bring out the beauty of our customers and bring a smile to their face. This has been an oversight at our level and for that we are sorry. The said advert has been duly withdrawn."

Maanvi informed her followers about the same on Twitter and said that the ‘matter is closed’ as the advert was withdrawn by the fashion label.

“The said brand has issued an apology on their SM accounts and has assured us that the ad in question has been withdrawn. I also realize that the tagline didn't come from a place of malice but sheer ignorance. In the hope that this won't happen again, the matter is now closed,” the 34-year-old actress wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Maanvi Gagroo's character Siddhi Patel in 'Four More Shots Please' was subjected to fat-shaming. The actress received praises for her performance as a bubbly girl, who later takes a stand for herself and embraces her body.
