New Delhi: As Salman Khan fans await the release of 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan', not many know that the film is the remake of the Tamil hit 'Veeram' which was released in 2014. 'Veeram' starred superstar Ajith Kumar in the lead along with Tamannaah Bhatia as the female lead and a large ensemble cast including Bala, Nassar, Pradeep Rawat, Atul Kulkarni, Santhanam, Vidharth among others.
'Veeram' received positive reviews from both audiences and critics alike besides also being a box office hit. Thus, the film was also remade into Telugu as 'Katamarayudu' (2017), and in Kannada as 'Odeya'.
However, both the Telugu and Kannada remakes bombed at the box office.
Veeram Plot
'Veeram', an action drama film, was a complete family entertainer. The film's plot revolved around four brothers, one of whom hates the idea of marriage with the misconception that his wife might cause disharmony among the brothers. While, secretly all four brothers have lovers, all pretend that they do not wish to get married.
What follows thereafter including the revelations of brothers' love interests is what 'Veeram' is all about.
Like 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan', 'Veeram' boasted a large ensemble cast.
The music of 'Veeram' was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. While there were talks of the same artist composing music for 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan', Ravi Basrur was signed for composing the score for the film.However, Devi Sri Prasad has composed a dance mumber for the Salman Khan starrer.

As per reports, 'Veeram' grossed Rs. 59 crores (worldwide) after its first week.
Veeram Appreciation
'Veeram' also got Ajith Kumar nomination for the Best Actor category at the Filmfare Awards( South). The film was also nominated in the favourite film and favourite director category at the Vijay Awards.
Meanwhile, 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' is being helmed by Farhad Samji known for directing ensembles like 'Housefull 4'. Farhad and Sajid, the brothers duo, are known for directing films like 'Entertainment' and 'Housefull 3'. Most recently, Farhad had directed Kriti Sanon, Akshay Kumar starrer 'Bachhan Paandey'.
'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' also boasts of an ensemble cast including the likes of Shehnaaz Gill and Palak Tiwari, both of whom will be making their Bollywood debut with the film. Other cast members include Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Jagapathi Babu, Raghav Juyul, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Bhumika Chawla among others.
Farhad Samji wanted to remake 'Veeram' as 'Bachchhan Paandey'
Earlier, director Farhad Samji wanted to remake the 2014 Tamil film 'Veeram' as 'Bachchhan Paandey' with Akshay Kumar. However, later, he changed the script of 'Bachchhan Paandey' to be made into anotherTamil film 'Jigarthanda' instead. As the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment held the remake rights of both films, Samji tweaked Veeram's story and pitched it to Salman Khan. And, now 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' is awaiting release.
'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' is scheduled to be released on the occasion of Eid, April 21, 2023.
