Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ box office collection on Twitter. He mentioned that the film witnessed an upward trend in the metros.

‘Ek Ladki’ focused on same-sex relationships and homosexuality, which is still considered a taboo in India. The film, which released across 1500 screens in India, has received thumbs for Bollywood celebs like Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar and Twinkle Khanna for pushing the boundaries and bringing an unconventional love story on the silver screen.

‘Ek Ladki Ko’ faced stiff competition from Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and Vicky Kaushal & Yami Gautam’s ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’.
‘Manikarnika’ gained momentum on its second Saturday at the box office and minted Rs 5.25 crore.
Aditya Dhar’s ‘Uri’ has emerged as a blockbuster and is still going strong at the box office. The action film beat ‘Manikarika’ and ‘Ek Ladki Ko’ and collected Rs 6.35 crore on Saturday. The film co-starring Paresh Rawal is now inching closer to the Rs 200 crore mark.
‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ marked the Bollywood debut of Regina Cassandra, who played Sonam’s love interest in the film. Interestingly, Sonam and Anil collaborated for the very first time on the silver screen.
