Dunki Release HIGHLIGHTS: Netizens Hail Taapsee Pannu's Performance In SRK Starrer
Amid great fanfare, Dunki was released today, December 21. Fans made sure that the Shah Rukh Khan movie with director Rajkumar Hirani is nothing less of a celebration.
Shah Rukh Khan’s third film of the year ‘Dunki’ is not expected to perform as much as the superstar’s earlier two films ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ which earned over Rs 1,000 crore each at the worldwide box office.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dunki will earn around Rs 30 crore on Thursday, as per early estimates. In the morning shows, the film had an occupancy of 26.45% and the afternoon shows recorded an occupancy of 21.77 %. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial was released on a weekday and is expected to perform better on the weekend.

Dunki tells us a tale of a period when going to a faraway country looked to be the only option to live a happy life during the reverse immigration era. Shah Rukh Khan as Hardy, an army man, takes on the task of attaining his new acquaintances' goals.
The film's first part follows these people as they accomplish their goals through various ruses and tasks. They do everything, from learning English in three months to losing every saved penny to dishonest visa agent. As a last resort, Hardy and his friends risk their lives to come to London after all else fails and there appears to be no other hope. Despite being pitched as a comedy, the movie tells a dark tale of people fleeing their homes in search of basic necessities in a foreign land.

Shah Rukh Khan's latest release is all set not only to break box-office records but social media records as well. The film has been trending on top on platform X earlier known as Twitter.
Some of the moviegoers, who went for the first show, shared that the jokes in the film feel stale. "I am disappointed, I had a lot of expectations from Raju Hirani but I guess he could not evolve with time, the jokes and writing were old. I am a Shah Rukh fan but I am very disappointed...," says another moviegoer."

The film's plot is on four friends who want to move to London so as to escape their miserable lives and start new ones. Fans are very enthusiastic about Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ and Prabhas starrer ‘Salaar’, and early ticket sales have already started.
Sacnilk reports that 6,78,292 tickets have been sold for the first day of Salaar (in all languages combined). Through advance reservations alone, the film has earned a remarkable Rs 14.88 crore. The Prabhas-starring film was pre-booked in many Indian states, including Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh.
So far, ‘Dunki’ has made Rs 10.47 crore from 3,60,508 ticket sales. 'Dunki' has a little advantage over 'Salaar' due to its Thursday release, which is one day before Prabhas's flick. Many people in the Telugu-speaking region of the nation are looking forward to seeing Salaar in theatres.

Fans of Shah Rukh Khan have posted videos of the enormous gathering that included fireworks and dhol-tasha to celebrate the release of Dunki.
