New Delhi: 'Dunki', Shah Rukh Khan's third film of 2023, is about to be released. Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu are also in the movie, which is directed by Rajkumar Hirani. So far, the movie has made Rs 1.24 crore from advance bookings, according to sacnilk.com.
The report claims that a total of 33770 Hindi-language 'Dunki' tickets have been sold for 2836 shows. Due to its clash with Prabhas' 'Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire', the upcoming days will be critical for deciding the movie's opening day.
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel tweeted, “Dunki Initial pre-sale starts on a remarkable note. Film has sold 10K +tickets at national chain multiplexes. Non national chains showing good movement too. If the momentum continues then Dunki will challenge top films of 2023 in terms of final advance booking. Next 3 days will give a clear picture.”
In the meantime, advance bookings for 'Salaar' have brought in almost Rs 1 crore. This includes Telugu (Rs 80.30 lakh), Malayalam (Rs 21.03 lakh), Tamil (Rs1.76 lakh), and Kannada (Rs 1900 gross). 'Salaar' garnered Rs 2.06 lakh via the sale of 972 tickets for 67 shows in Hindi. With 867 screenings, 51280 tickets have been sold for the movie overall so far. Through advance bookings, the movie has garnered Rs 1.05 crore in total revenue.
‘Dunki’ also marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with Rajkummar Hirani. It revolves around the issue of illegal migration that many in North India, especially from Punjab do, to get a better social position in their life and make an earning for themselves.
A week ahead of its release, the film has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Dunki has received a U/A certificate from the film.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Prabhas will be starring in 'Salaar'. Prashanth Neel is the director of the movie. 'Dunki' comes out on December 21, while Salaar comes out on December 22.
