Recently, CEO of Drishyam Films, Shiladitya Bora, who co-produced 'Masaan', accused creative people associated with Masaan of 'professional misconduct' and this wasn't taken lightly by Director Neeraj Ghayawan.

In reply to Bora's accusation, Neeraj Ghaywan said, "Are you saying the censor board actually cut almost all of the opening scene? Are you saying they had objections with (the) character Piyush gifting Devi a present? Are you actually accusing (that) a government body from the ministry, the CBFC, actually cut out almost all of that scene by themselves and what remains is just a door knock? (Are you accusing that) the members of Mr. Pahlaj Nihlani's censor board actually asked to bring down the length of 109mts 17 scs to 104 mts?

To this Bora talked about an email communication that happened in the past. He said, "Please check email dated October 13, 2015 from Raghav Gupta of Drishyam Films requesting you for a voluntary cut of the film for U/A certification for satellite purpose. After that we did follow up calls with Phantom post team also for the cut."

Ghaywan next asked Bora  "Are you saying you haven't made ANY interim cut ahead of sending it for UA certification?" Bora's reply mentioned the deletion timings. "Total deletions at the time of examination: 3:40 minutes. Total Voluntary deletions at the time of application: 1:37 minutes. Total Addition at the time of application: 2:00 minutes (Anti Smoking)."

But things didn't end here!

The director asked Bora, "For a moment, let me believe it is a yes for all questions I asked in 1 and 2. If so, would you not even show me what cuts the CBFC came back with? They give a list of cuts written on a piece of paper. Could you share that with me? Couldn't you have checked if those were okay with me? Any emails you sent to me?" To which Bora replied, "No matter whatever be the reason endorsing piracy is not acceptable."

Ghaywan said, "You are reading Anurag's tweet the wrong way, like most trolls did. What he intended was to say that it is better to watch a pirated DVD or on torrents THAN watching the mutilated cut. This doesn't imply him asking people to watch it on torrents. It was a manner of sarcasm to make a point,"

Then Bora reminded Ghaywan about the agreement. "The U/A certificate is inclusive in the agreement. If any party signs it means they are fully aware of the cuts as suggested in the U/A censor. Just for benefit of doubt if anyone even after signing the agreement is not aware of the cuts, they could have asked us on mail or in person what the cuts are."

It seems things aren't going down well between the team Masaan!
