New Delhi: The untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput has created quite a stir in the film industry. The talented actor, who made a successful transition from TV to cinema, committed suicide by hanging himself at his apartment on Sunday (June 14). Mumbai Police is investigating Sushant’s suicide case and they have recorded statements of Rhea Chakraborty, ‘Dil Bechara’ director Mukesh Chhabra, Sushant’s manager, family members and cook.


Rhea was quizzed for over 10 hours at the Bandra Police station in connection with the late actor’s suicide case. She reportedly gave a statement that Sushant was battling clinical depression but he didn’t take his medication and instead turned towards yoga and meditation.

Rhea, who will be next seen in ‘Chehre’, also admitted that she was living with Sushant and moved out few days before his demise, reports suggested.

According to a report in an entertainment portal, Sushant’s family had asked Rhea to not attend his funeral. The actress is also not followed by Sushant’s sisters on Instagram, the report added.

A source told SpotboyE that Sushan’t family made their decision about her presence at his funeral and they told Rhea not to attend his last rites.

The likes of Kriti Sanon, Ekta Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Rajkummar Rao, Krystle D’Souza, Arjun Bijlani attended Sushant’s funeral at Vile Parle on June 15.

The ‘Shudh Desi Romance’ actor’s family members immersed his ashes in river Ganga in Patna on June 18. Sushant’s last film will be ‘Dil Bechara’, which couldn’t hit the silver screens in May 2020 due to COVID-19 crisis.

The ‘Pavitra Rishta’ actor’s fans have requested the makers of the film to release ‘Dil Bechara on the big screen. They trended the hashtag #DilBecharaOnBigScreen on Twitter as there were rumours that film might premiere directly on an OTT platform.
