Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra took to social media to praise Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj, who played an instrumental role in team India’s victory against the Aussies at Gabba. The ‘Sholay’ star shared an appreciation post for the right-arm bowler on Twitter and called him ‘Brave heart son of India’. He mentioned that he got emotional after seeing the cricketer pay tribute to his late father.

He tweeted, “Siraj , Brave Heart son of India Love you ...Naaz hai tujh par, dil par walid ki maut ka sdma liye tum watan ki Aan ke liye match khelte rahe ..aur ek unhoni jeet watan ke naam darj kar ke lote..Kal tujhe apne walid ki qabbr par dekh kar mun bhar aya . jannt naseeb ho unhein. (We are proud of you Siraj. You continued to play for India even when you were reeling in pain after your father’s death. You returned home after registering victory. I got emotional after seeing you visit your father’s grave. I hope he finds peace in heaven.)”
India defeated Australia in the fourth test by three wickets, ending their 32-year dominance at Gabba. The Ajinkya Rahane led team won the Border-Gavaskar trophy by beating the hosts 2-1. Mohammed Siraj, who made his test debut on December 26, 2020 against the Aussies, took his first five-wicket haul at the Brisbane Cricket Ground.

The Indian cricketers returned home after registering a thumping victory against Australia on Thursday (January 21). Siraj went straight to his father’s grave after reaching Hyderabad. He paid tribute to his father, who passed away in November 2020 when he was busy with the Australian tour.
Despite the personal loss Siraj decided not to return home due to the pandemic restrictions as it would mean missing out on his test debut.
Talking about Dharmendra, the 85-year-old actor will be next seen in Apne 2’. His grandson and Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol has also joined the star cast of the sequel of ‘Apne’. The film will also star Bobby Deol. Three generations of the Deol family will come together for the upcoming family drama. It is slated to hit the silver screens during Diwali 2021.
