Before the commencement of the nationwide lockdown, Selvaraghavan in his speech to a crowd of youngsters said that he was looking for a script to make his next film. He further said that he was thinking to make ‘Pudhupettai 2’. The director and the ‘Raanjhaana’ actor has not reunited for any other project after the 2011 movie ‘Mayakkam Enna’.
Sonia Agarwal and Sneha were seen as the female leads in ‘Pudhupettai’. In addition to the visual grandeur, the movie also provided an epic aural experience beautifully elevated by Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music.
Written and directed by Selavraghavan, ‘Pudhupettai’ is a story about the main character ‘Kokki’ Kumar who lives in the slums of Pudhupettai, Chennai. After his father murders his mother, scared Kumar runs away from his house and becomes a gangster and rules his kingdom in the underground don world. The uncertainties and ugly political conspiracy haunt his life until he sets free from the wretched world that he lives in.
The audience cannot wait to see the revamped version of ‘Kokki’ Kumar as they go gaga over the picture of the duo.
