Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak finally hit the silver screens on July 20. The Shashank Khaitan directorial has received a massive response from the audience and it is already reflecting in Dhadak’s first weekend collection. The Hindi remake of the Marathi film Sairat has minted Rs 33.67 crore in the first three days of release, which is a major feat for a movie featuring newcomers. Despite getting mixed reviews from the critics, the two leads of the romantic saga have been appreciated for their chemistry.
Movie buffs are always interested to know about the pay cheques of their favourite Bollywood stars. While biggies like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan demand a whopping amount as fees, newcomers are said to be taking home a comparatively lower amount for their films.
So how much did Dhadak actors Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter get for the film?
Late Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi, who made her debut with Dhadak, was paid between Rs 50-60 lakh for the film, a report in Dailyhunt suggested. Ishaan also charged something between Rs 50-60 lakh as his signing amount, the report added.
Interestingly, Ashutosh Rana, who played the baddie Ratan Singh in the film, was paid Rs 80 lakh. The music director duo of Ajay-Atul, who composed music for both Dhadak and Sairat, got Rs 1.5 crore as fees. The music in Dhadak has been loved by the masses and the songs are topping the charts.
Shashank Khaitan, who directed the film, took home a hefty sum of Rs 4 crore, the report added. Khaitan has previously directed Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania for Dharma Productions. Both the films had fared well at the box office and now all eyes are all Dhadak.
Nagraj Manjule, the writer & director of Sairat, was paid Rs 2 crore for the film remake rights, the report said.
