Late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for the release of her Bollywood debut film ‘Dhadak’. The film produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions & Zee Studios and directed by Shashank Khaitan has been making waves ever since the trailer was released. Dhadak, which also stars Ishaan Khatter, has become the talk of the town as it marks Janhvi’s debut. The Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairat’ will see the 21-year-old actress in the role of Parthavi. Sridevi, who left for her heavenly abode on February 24, wanted to see her daughter on the silver screen. Unfortunately, the ‘Mr India’ actress passed away few months ahead of Dhadak’s release.

The film will hit the cinema theatres in two days (July 20) and the makers of ‘Dhadak’ have planned a special tribute to Sridevi. Yes you heard that right.

Janhvi has penned an emotional note for her mother and it has been attached in the beginning of Dhadak along with the mother-daughter duo’s picture, as per a report in an entertainment portal.

“Janhvi has written a heartfelt note to Sridevi which has been attached in the very beginning of the film, along with their picture. She wanted to dedicate her first film to her mother and it was only obvious for the makers to include this special tribute in the film,’’ a source told BollywoodLife.

Boney Kapoor had earlier revealed that Sridevi had seen rushes of Dhadak before she left for Dubai to attend Mohit Marwah’s marriage. The ‘Wanted’ producer had said that his wife was relieved that Janhvi didn’t follow her in terms of acting style.

Just days after Sridevi’s death, Janhvi was back on the sets of ‘Dhadak’ as she didn’t want to hamper the shooting schedule.  Director Shashank Khaitan had lauded her professional commitment and  said that it was Janhvi and her family who supported him to complete the film.

The 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' director also opened up on how he dealt with Janhvi after Sridev's death. He said that it was tough for the cast and crew to shoot after the veteran actress passed away but they didn't make any special efforts to reduce the shoot time.

Ishaan and Janhvi visited our office in Noida and danced on the popular 'Zingaat' from 'Dhadak'. Check out the video right here.
