Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer ‘Dhadak’, which hit the cinema theatres on July 20, has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark on day seven. The Shashank Khaitan directorial, which is the Hindi remake of Marathi superhit film ‘Sairat’, has managed to win the hearts of the audience. Dhadak day seven box office collection stood at Rs 3.55 crore, which is considered good for a film featuring newcomers. The film, which opened on a high note at the box office, has collected Rs 51.56 crore within a week of release.


The film marked the Bollywood debut of late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi and hence was highly anticipated by the fans.

Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared Dhadak’s box office collection on Twitter. He mentioned that second weekend will be crucial for the film as Mission Impossible 6 is releasing in India on July 27.


Dhadak has the highest first week collection for a film featuring newcomers. Producer Karan Johar took to Twitter to share the news with the fans.


KJo threw a grand success bash for the film in Mumbai and the lead actors interacted with the media.

Dhadak, which released across 2791 screens all over the world, has  done a decent business in the international markets. The film has been appreciated for the fresh chemistry between the two leads-Janhvi and Ishaan.

The music of the film has also managed to strike a chord with the audience. Dhadak’s title track and Zingaat are topping the music charts since their release.
