Mumbai: Deepika Padukone, who forayed into Hollywood with ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’, has announced her new international project. The Bollywood diva will play the lead role in a new cross-cultural romantic comedy. Guess what? Deepika is co-producing the upcoming film with STXFilms under her home banner KA Productions. Yes, you read that right!


The ‘Piku’ star shared a screenshot of a story, which was carried by Deadline, about her romantic comedy. She also issued a statement to express her excitement over teaming up with STXFilms for the project.


"Ka Productions was founded with the aim to develop and produce purposeful content with global appeal. I'm thrilled to be partnering with STXFilms and Temple Hill Productions, who share Ka's ambition and creative vision and look forward to bringing impactful and dynamic cross-cultural stories to the world," Padukone said in her statement, as quoted as saying by ANI.

On the professional front, the leggy lass will be next seen in a special appearance in Kabir Khan’s ‘83’. The sports drama starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev is based on India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup victory. The much-awaited film has been delayed twice due to the COVID-19 crisis.


Earlier this month, Deepika wrapped up the shoot of Shakun Batra's upcoming film co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday. Karan Johar is producing the yet-to-be titled slice-of-life drama.


Padukone has several exciting films in her kitty including 'Pathan', 'Fighter', the Hindi remake of 'The Intern' and Nag Ashwin's next. The 'Tamasha' actress will produce the adaptation of 'The Intern' under home banner KA Productions.
