New Delhi: Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg 3’, which hit the silver screens on December 20, has started on a flying note at the box office. The film co-starring Sonakshi Sinha, Kichcha Sudeep and Arbaaz Khan has managed to perform quite well on its opening day. The action drama, which received mixed reviews from the critics, collected Rs 24.50 crore on Friday. Salman has once again proved why the actor is known as the king of box office.

Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the first day box office collection of ‘Dabangg 3’ on Twitter. He mentioned that the film’s business was affected due to anti-CAA protests in the country. Salman’s star power played a big role in helping the movie gain over Rs 20 crore on the opening day.

“#Dabangg3 hits ₹ 20 cr+ on Day 1 thanks largely to #SalmanKhan’s star power... Day 1 biz would’ve easily been much, much higher had it not been for the protests... Resultantly, biz kept fluctuating throughout the day... A substantial sum was lost due to this reason,” Adarsh tweeted.


‘Dabangg 3’, which was also released with dubbed versions in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu, minted Rs 24.5 crore on Friday. “#Dabangg3 Fri ₹ 24.5 cr. #India biz. Note: ALL VERSIONS,” Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.
