Several Bollywood celebs including Farhan Akhtar, Varun Dhawan and Sanjana Sanghi have come forward to support India’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic, which has wreaked havoc across the country. At a time when the entire nation is grappling with the health crisis, the tinsel town stars have lent a helping hand to the citizens and frontline workers.
Varun Dhawan has joined hands with Mission Oxygen India to help procure and donate Oxygen concentrators to hospitals in different parts of the country. The ‘Badlapur’ star revealed that the first shipment has been deployed at 14 hospitals in India.
The ‘SOTY’ actor requested his fans to support the fight against COVID-19 in whatever capacity they can. "As a group of 30 something individuals who have managed to step up for the country in this time of need and raise over 21 crores for the procurement of 3900 OCs in under a week. I resonate deeply with their cause and urge everyone to help in whatever capacity possible," he said in a statement.
Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment has lent support to different NGOs, who are striving to provide facilities to COVID-19 patients. The production house has donated money to the NGOs so that they can continue to provide facilities like oxygen, ambulance and medicines to patients without interruption.
The actor, who will be next seen in ‘Toofan’, requested his followers to contribute their bit. He tweeted, “Encourage you to do your bit to help. Every rupee matters.”
