New Delhi: The novel Coronavirus outbreak has halted the functioning of many countries all over the world including India. On April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced further extension of the nationwide lockdown till May 3. With the entire nation coming to a standstill by the pandemic, entertainment industry too has got affected & the production of films, TV shows and web shows have been shelved owing to lockdown for now. Actor Manoj Baypayee, who is celebrating his 51st birthday today (April 23) is stuck in Uttarakhand due to lockdown.


The talented actor, who was shooting for a web-series in Uttarakhand's Ramgarh with Deepak Dobriyal had to stay back after the announcement of lockdown. While Bajpayee is accompanied by his wife and daughter, Dobriyal is alone.

The actor ringed in his 51st birthday with wife & daughter in Uttarakhand. Speaking about the same, Manoj told Mumbai Mirror that, "I am in the hills with my family. There can be no better setting,” adding that the best birthday gift would be to witness the coronavirus pandemic subsiding worldwide.

While there's no TV & poor mobile network in the area where Manoj Bajpayee is staying in Uttarakhand, the actor is reading and occasionally goes out on short treks.

"The only problem is that we’re not allowed to go out of the compound here, and as all the houses are far apart from each other, there is hardly any human contact," he added.

On the Bollywood front, Manoj Bajpayee will next be seen in 'Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari' co-starring Diljit Dosanjh and Fatima Sana Shaikh. He will be seen alongside Jacqueline Fernandez in Netflix's 'Mrs. Serial Killer.'
