New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has severely affected the functioning of all the countries of the world including India. To combat the further spread of COVID-19, PM Narendra Modi imposed a 21-day nationwide lockdown. The shooting of all the films, TV shows and ads have been halted due to the deadly virus. The release dates of several films including ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘83’ and ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ have been postponed.

As per the latest buzz, the makers of another much-awaited film are planning to push the release date due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We are talking about ‘Coolie No. 1’.

The film, which is the remake of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor’s ‘Coolie No.1’, was slated to hit silver screens on May 1. According to a report in a leading daily, the comedy drama starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan will most likely release in June or July. It has been directed by David Dhawan.

“The call will be taken only after the situation gets back to normal. But it is definitely not arriving on May 1 now. Maybe June, July or even later, depending on when the scare subsides. The producers of all the big films will come together to chalk out a release calendar for the second half of 2020,” a source close to the film told Mumbai Mirror.

The makers of ‘Coolie No.1’ had to reschedule their trailer launch date due to the pandemic. The movie buffs will have to wait more to see their favourite stars on the silver screen.

Meanwhile, the Bollywood stars are doing their bit by donating to various government relief funds to support the fight against Coronavirus. Both Varun and Sara have donated to PM-CARES Fund and Maharashtra CM’s Relief Fund.
