New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is constantly contributing in India's fight against the ongoing novel Coronavirus outbreak. After donating a hefty amount of 25 crore to PM-CARES fund, Akshay Kumar has now given an additional donation of 3 crore more to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). He has given this donation to assist in the production of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), masks and rapid testing kits for healthcare workers.

Let us tell you here that the doctors are constantly demanding that they should be given PPE & other important equipment to stay safe from COVID-19 infection while attending positive patients. Hence, Akshay Kumar came forward again and contributed for the safety of those at the frontline in the battle against the Coronavirus.

Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on his Twitter handle. Confirming the actor's contribution, Ashutosh Salil, BMC joint municipal commissioner informed Mid Day that, "A few days ago, Mr Kumar got in touch with the BMC commissioner [ and made the donation]. We are happy that the actor is doing his bit. We have been ensuring that funds don't get stuck in multiple procedures as we can't afford delays. The money donated by him will go into the general fund that will be used for [ the production of] PPE, masks, gloves and rapid testing kits."

On the career front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's 'Sooryavanshi' featuring Katrina Kaif as leading lady. The much-awaited film was set to hit the screens in March however was pushed ahead due to Coronavirus outbreak.
