Ever since Deepika Padukone shared the first look from her upcoming film 'Chhapaak' which is based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, the praises have been coming her way from fans as well as the fraternity including actors Priyanka Chorpa, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Bachchan among others. Deepika shared her look as 'Malti' in film and her uncanny resemblance with the help of make-up and prosthetics is leaving Internet in awe. ‘Chhapaak’ First Look: Bollywood celebrities Alia, Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Priyanka, Varun Dhawan & others praise Deepika!

While everyone's lauding Deepika's conviction and dedication for the role of an acid attack survivor, Rangoli took to Twitter too and reacting to Deepika's tweet, she wrote - "No matter how unfair and unjust the world is we musn’t reflect what we hate, this is commendable on and part, being an acid attack survivor I pledge to be their biggest cheerleader  [clapping hands emoji]".

Just a few tweets earlier, Rangoli had also taken a sly dig at Bollywood by replying to another tweet that read - "Where were these Bollywood buffoons when Kangana released her film or even her first look as ?" Rangoli's reaction to this tweet was - "I am also thinking the same, all the rats are out of the hole now".

However she had all the respect for the Meghna and Deepika for taking the initiative to tell the story of an acid attack survivor. Rangoli also tweeted to Laxmi Agarwal - " you r an inspiration to many !!! I look forward to know your story ".

A man had thrown acid on Rangoli when she was 23. Opening up for the first time about the trauma she went through both mentally and physically then, Rangoli had shared in 2016: "The physical pain was excruciating and at 23 the mental trauma was painful. I have lost one ear. I have lost 90% vision in one of my eyes. I have a dysfunctional breast. Acid attack is not a regular accident".

The incident reportedly happened in 2006 when Rangoli was pursuing her masters in Microbiology. She was staying with a friend in a rented house when the attacker came in disguised as a delivery man. The moment Rangoli addressed the door, he threw acid at her and fled.

“Plastic surgery is not so easy. It doesn’t give you a new face. I had to get skin from thighs and get grafting done.It took 57 surgeries. The physical pain was excruciating and at 23 the mental trauma was painful" -Rangoli had added.

Now with another survivor's story making it to the big screen with a superstar like Deepika portraying the character, Rangoli promises to the biggest cheerleader for the team.

Directed by Mehgna Gulzar, 'Chhapaak' stars Deepka Padukone and Vikrant Massey in lead roles and it is scheduled to release on January 10th, 2020.
