For the uninitiated, 'Chhapaak' is inspired from acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarawal. Laxmi was 15 when the attack occurred, which was at a New Delhi bus stop in 2005. Her attacker, a 32-year old man, was an acquaintance of her family. Later, she took up the job of helping acid attack survivors and promoted campaigns to stop such attacks. Agarwal is a well-known advocate of stricter punishments in acid attack cases.
The film is getting positive response from critics as well as celebs and it'll be interesting to see how the film will perform at the box-office.
