Earlier on Tuesday the first look of Shahid Kapoor was released by the makers, Shahid plays a Punjabi rock star, Tommy Singh, in the movie. The film also stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

'Udta Punjab' is directed by Abhishek Chaubey. This is his third film after 'Ishqiya' and 'Dedh Ishqiya.' The film revolves around the subject of drug addiction, which has become a serious issue in the Indian state of Punjab since few years.
