New Delhi: The horror comedy 'Chandramukhi 2' starring Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence is off to a strong start at the box office, earning Rs 7.5 crore on Thursday across all languages. Kangana Ranaut plays the lead in the P Vasu-directed film. Raghava plays two roles in the story, which gives it an intriguing new turn.
The occupancy rate for the Tamil release of 'Chandramukhi 2' on Thursday was 51.90%, compared to 42.65 percent for Telugu releases and 12.77 percent for Hindi screenings, according to the Sacnilk report. 'The Vaccine War' and 'Fukrey 3' were two Hindi films that were released on the same day as 'Chandramukhi 2'. Meanwhile, the comedy starring Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, and Pankaj Tripathi had a successful opening weekend. According to initial estimates published by Sacnilk.com, it had an opening collection of Rs 8.5 crore. The film directed by Vivek Agnihotri, on the other hand, is reported to have opened in theatres at Rs 1.3 crore.
In the movie, actor Kangana Ranaut plays the lead role as the dancer Chandramukhi from the court of King Vettiyan Raja. She shows her outstanding dancing skills as well as her portrayal of a beautifully attractive, haunting dancer.
'Chandramukhi 2' was supposed to be released on September 15 but was postponed to September 28 because of production issues. The eagerly anticipated Tamil horror comedy is a sequel of a movie released in 2005.
Lyca Productions and Subaskaran are the producers of 'Chandramukhi 2', which was made in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Vadivelu, Mahima Nambiar, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Y. G. Mahendran, Ravi Mariya, and other actors also appear in the movie. The horror comedy features incredible set design, stunning visuals, as well as some excellent CGI, including an exceptional-looking digital panther. Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani composed the music for the movie.
