Bollywood’s favourite couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are all set to team up for a film titled ‘Gulab Jamun’ after eight long years. The upcoming film will be helmed by Sarvesh Mewara. Aish and Abhi were last seen together in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ravaan’ and movie buffs have been eagerlly waiting to see them once again on the silver screen. While promoting her film ‘Fanney Khan’, Aishwarya had confirmed that the real-life couple had signed the dotted lines for the film. The ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ had said that two of them fitted the bill perfectly. As per the latest buzz, Amitabh Bachchan might join the two actors in ‘Gulab Jamun’.

Big B, Abhishek and Aishwarya were last seen together in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Sarkar’ which released in 2008.  A report in a leading daily said that the ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ host was the latest addition to the much-awaited film. ‘Gulab Jamun’ will be a slice-of-life film which tells the story of a three-generation family, the report added. Interestingly, Senior Bachchan will represent the first generation in the film.

"After initiating talks with Abhishek and Ash, the makers had given a narration to Big B last year, following which he had suggested a few tweaks to the script,’’ a source told mid-day.

‘’It was after the wrap-up of Manmarziyan last month that conversation around this film started again. Anurag reached out to Big B with the reworked script. If all goes as planned, he will be on board soon. It is yet unknown whether he will be playing a father to Abhishek or Aishwarya," the source further told the daily.

Senior Bachchan has played the role of a father to both Abhishek his son and daughter-in-law. The ‘Deewar’ actor essayed the character of Abhishek’s dad in Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ while he played Aishwarya’s father in ‘Mohabbatein'.
