On September 15, Bollywood actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan took a dig at the people trying to tarnish the image of the Hindi film industry during the Monsoon session at the Parliament. The veteran actress said, “Just because of a few people, you cannot tarnish the whole industry... I was embarrassed and ashamed yesterday that one of the members in the Lok Sabha, who is from the industry itself, spoke ill of the industry. Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chched karte hain.”

Reacting to this statement, Kangana Ranaut took to her Twitter and questioned the Rajya Sabha MP which plate has she and her industry given. She further revealed that a ‘Thali’ came across which had two minutes of role, an item number and a romantic scene that too after sleeping with the hero. The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actor further claimed that she has taught the industry ‘feminism’ and has decorated the ‘Thali’ with ‘female centric patriotic’ films. Kangana Ranaut ended her statement saying ‘This is my own Thali Jaya Ji not yours’.

In another tweet, Kangana wrote, “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also”

The Samajwadi Party MP had given a zero-hour notice in the Upper House over an alleged conspiracy to defame Bollywood. She also added that the film industry brings fame and recognition to the country and people working in this field are being ‘flogged by social media’.

Speaking on the professional front, the ‘Queen’ actress will be next seen playing the role of the protagonist in the upcoming biopic ‘Thalaivi’. She will also be seen in ‘Dhaakad’ and ‘Tejas’.
