Mumbai: Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar is coming up with his upcoming movie ‘Toofan’ on July 16, 2021. This sports drama will release on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video and also stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. Farhan will be seen portraying the lead role of a national level boxer in ‘Toofan’.
Well, ahead of his film’s release, netizens have been slamming Farhan Akhtar on Twitter for allegedly not showing his support towards the CAA. Netizens also slammed Farhan for allegedly promoting 'love jihad' in 'Toofan' and are trending #BoycottToofan on the microblogging site.

‘Toofan’ has been helmed by the ‘Rang De Basanti’ director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and also stars Vijay Raaz, Mohan Agashe, Hussain Dalal, Darshan Kumar and Supriya Pathak. ‘Toofan’ was earlier scheduled for a theatrical release last year. It was then scheduled for an OTT release earlier this year on May 21, but the release was postponed as the country hit the horrendous second wave.
‘Toofan’ will mark Farhan Akhtar’s second collaboration with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The duo has earlier worked together in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ which is based on the life of the ‘Flying Sikh’ Milkha Singh.
Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar was last seen featuring in the 2019 movie ‘The Sky Is Pink’ alongside Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim.
