New Delhi: T-Series Managing Director Bhushan Kumar remembered his father Gulshan Kumar on his birth anniversary on Tuesday (May 5). Gulshan would have turned 64 today if he was alive. Bhushan paid a heartfelt tribute to his father on social media. He also posted a picture of Gulshan Kumar, who founded one of the biggest music lables in India.

"Happy Birthday Papa! I feel blessed for being a part of your dreams. And I hope I am making you proud somewhere. You were, are & will always be in our hearts, minds, celebrations & prayers. I love you," Bhushan Kumar wrote on Twitter.


Singer Tulsi Kumar also remembered her father on his birth anniversary. She tweeted, " I know Your love and blessings are always around us Red heart पर फिर भी  वो क़िस्मत वाले होते हैं  जिनके पापा होते हैं  There can be NoOne like you papa Broken heart Words can’t do justice to the way I miss you Hugging face #fatheranddaughter #specialbond #missupapa."


Gulshan Kumar was shot dead outside Mumbai’s Jeeteshwar Mahadev Mandir on August 12, 1997. He received two threatening calls on August 5 and August 8 August 1997 but he refused to pay the extortion money. Gulshan was shot 16 times. According to reports, Mumbai underworld organization- D-Company is considered to be responsible for Gulshan Kumar’s death.

Not many know that Gulshan Kumar’s father was fruit juice vendor, who worked on the streets of Delhi’s Daryaganj. Gulshan started working with his dad from an early age.

T-Series had announced that it will produce a biographical film about Gulshan Kumar titled 'Mogul – The Gulshan Kumar Story'. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will essay the main lead in the upcoming film.
